Massachusetts Supreme Court Orders All Citizens To Gay Marry!

BOSTON—Justices of the Massachusetts Supreme Judicial Court ruled 5-2 Monday in favor of full, equal, and mandatory gay marriages for all citizens. The order nullifies all pre-existing heterosexual marriages and lays the groundwork for the 2.4 million compulsory same-sex marriages that will take place in the state by May 15. "As we are all aware, it's simply not possible for gay marriage and heterosexual marriage to co-exist," Massachusetts Chief Justice Margaret H. Marshall said. "Our ruling in November was just the first step toward creating an all-gay Massachusetts." Marshall added: "Since the allowance of gay marriage undermines heterosexual unions, we decided to work a few steps ahead and strike down opposite-sex unions altogether." Marshall said the court's action will put a swift end to the mounting debate. "Instead of spending months or even years volleying this thing back and forth, we thought we might as well just cut to the eventual outcome of our decision to allow gay marriages," Marshall said. "Clearly, this is where this all was headed anyway." The justices then congratulated the state's 4.8 million marriage-age residents on their legally mandated engagements. The court issued the surprise order in response to a query from the Massachusetts Senate over whether Vermont-style civil unions, which convey the state-sanctioned benefits of marriage but not the title, are constitutional. "If the history of our nation has demonstrated anything, it's that separate is never equal," Marshall said. "Therefore, any measure short of dismantling conventional matrimony and mandating the immediate homosexual marriage of all residents of Massachusetts would dishonor same-sex unions. I'm confident that this measure will be seen by all right-thinking people as the only solution to our state's, and indeed America's, ongoing marriage controversy." If you notice on the side of my blog I mention something about calling for peace and being told I was paving the way for the Anti - Christ and I thought, "What the hell, I thought that's what Christians are supposed to do.  What planet are you from?"

Well it appears he was from planet Earth.  It seems according to "Don't Drink the Kool-Aid" that the coming of an international peace movement signals, "What we knew was coming, but did we know it was already here?"

But what did we know was coming, what is already here?  Please tell me I don't know!

By the way to those of you who are genuinely horrified about Oprah's latest tangent there is a difference between mind training and brainwashing.  Also if people want to try this method of help good luck to them, I wish them every success. 

I will be totally honest, these videos denouncing Oprah and all of the other people they have denounced, are text book examples of videos designed to keep the totally brainwashed, brainwashed and they totally repulse me and make my skin crawl.  I am not endorsing Oprah's self help program, but I am denouncing these ridiculous videos.

Oh so back to this new word. Yes it came from an email sent into the Rapture Ready website.  If it wasn't for the new word, I think I could have written it myself on a very bad day when I was cursing the crazy goings on of the extremists in our midst's!

So here is the letter.  It made a nice change to the emails coming from the "rapturees."

You are not just sitting around waiting for the "rapture", but you and other evangelicals, some in high places, Christian Zionists, neocon politicians in Washington, Jewish Zionists in Tel Aviv, are actively trying to involve the entire world in the most hideous war in history. The sheer arrogance of your stance is astounding. If you're wrong, (and of course you are), but successful, then your delusional superstitious psychosis will be responsible for the deaths of millions, if not billions. You'll all be murderers worse that Hitler, Stalin, Mao, and the crusaders all rolled into one. But you don't care. To you, vindication and realization of your phantasmagoric philosophy is worth the destruction of civilization.

It's criminally insane. If there is a benevolent god, (S)he was not the author of such nonsense. Where did you get such monstrous ideas? Oh yeah. I forgot. The bible. And that's just the old testament. I've been thinking some more about the "right" of those, who hold certain religious views, to impose those views on those of us who don't hold to those views. Put simply, some choose to believe the thoughts of other humans concerning the possibility of life after death (and what has to be done to achieve this), and some don't. Many of those who believe feel that their eternal life is dependent upon imposing their beliefs, through legislation, on those of us who don't believe. They never do accept that they may just be wrong. Their fear of death transcends all, and that's all that really matters. It's all rather insulting to those of us who don't hold to those views, don't you think?

The reality is that we are all groping our way through this great adventure we call "life". At some point in our lives some of us tire of the uncertainty of it all, and declare to ourselves that we "know the truth". And to reinforce that truth to ourselves we then feel that we must defend it, no matter what. To do otherwise is to admit that we secretly fear that it isn't "the truth" at all. And if it isn't, then we are cast adrift in this confusing life with no anchor to cling to at all. I understand all that. But there are those of us who are mindful of Voltaire's "better to walk in darkness than to be guided by false light". Far better to accord those who have found their truth the courtesy of living their lives according to it, while the rest of us are allowed to live our lives according to our truths, imperfect though we recognise them to be. It's called "tolerance".

So it is that we, who know that we don't know, believe that all should decide for themselves in such matters as abortion, euthanasia, and sexual preference. By doing so, we are according the ultimate right to our fellow man, and that is the right to decide for themselves in such matters that do not impact on the rest of us. We only have one life to live. It's quite enough to handle for ourselves without telling others how they must live theirs. For those of us who say that we know it all, that is not only an arrogance, it is also an illustration of our ignorance, and I'm so tired of seeing it paraded before us as "the truth" every other day. It may be your truth. It isn't mine.

Tolerance - a word that just doesn't yet seem to be in the lexicon of so many.  Time for the rest of us to change that, I think.
